Academic Skills Advancement (ASA)
The Academic Skills Advancement Division ensures that all Ivy Tech students have the opportunity to master the fundamentals of reading, writing, mathematics, and related life and communication skills. Many Academic Skills Advancement courses are prerequisites for the Technical Certificate and Associate's Degree programs offered at Ivy Tech.
Programs include GED, ESL, Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Among the division's most popular classes is College Life and Success Skills, which offers students a primer on study, time management and other important skills that will help them in their academic careers.
Ivy Tech's Disability Support Services also help students achieve their full potential by addressing their special needs.
The newest addition to the ASA Division is the TRiO Student Support Service, which provides an array of supplemental services for qualifying students.
The Center for Academic Excellence provides tutoring services at the Main and North Campus buildings and a computer lab at the Main Campus with a wide array of software.
