If you are a degree-seeking student, you must satisfy the Assessment (course placement) requirement. The placement requirement indicates your mastery of math, reading, and writing. Whether you are a degree-seeking student or not, your level of mastery must be determined before registering for most courses.
The course placement requirement can be met one of two ways:

- The assessment test is not timed, but plan 2 to 3 hours to take the test.

Other Important Notes
- Turn in official high school transcript or official GED scores. If you are seeking financial aid or intend to earn a degree, you must provide proof of graduation or earned GED. An official transcript must include the date of graduation and an original signature or school seal. For a GED, an official GED score report is required. Turn these documents in to the Admissions office (Student Life Center, Room SL214), 260-480-4268.
- Fill out and submit the FAFSA. If applying for financial aid, apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or obtain the forms from the Financial Aid office, Room 1230, 260-480-2214. Then, send by mail. The Ivy Tech-Northeast school code is 009926.
- Looking to transfer college credit? You must submit an official college transcript to the Student Support and Advising Services office (Harshman Hall, Room HM1450), 260-480-4125.
