Ivy Tech Community College Ribbon-cutting Ceremony
to be Held for New Student Life Center

Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Student Life Center on the College’s North Campus off St. Joe Rd. from 1:30-4 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009.  The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. at the Student Life Center. Those who attend will have the opportunity to take tours of the facility, enjoy refreshments, receive give-aways, and experience student life.

Dignitaries and legislators from around the State, as well as local community friends and partners, are invited to join Ivy Tech faculty, staff, and students on the opening of this newly renovated facility. The building, formerly known as the Community Mall while owned by the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center, experienced an $8 million renovation over the last 12 months.  The Student Life Center houses several offices, classrooms, laboratories and boasts a childcare facility, fitness center, gymnasium and café grill.

Ivy Tech Community College is the state’s largest public post-secondary institution and the nation’s largest singly-accredited statewide community college system with more than 130,000 students enrolled annually. Ivy Tech has campuses throughout Indiana. It serves as the state's engine of workforce development, offering affordable degree programs and training that are aligned with the needs of its community along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
