Ivy Tech Community College Offers Event Management Concentration
Ivy Tech Community College is offering a concentration in Event Management through its Hospitality Administration Department. The concentration will combine hospitality, travel management, convention and meeting management, meeting planning and tourism, among others.
Courses offered this fall will be Introduction to Convention/Meeting Management (HOSP 172) and Travel Management (HOSP 144).
These courses will prepare individuals entering into the highly popular and expanding field of event planning. Upon successful completion of these courses, students will be able to construct the framework for planning a meeting, convention or exposition, identify aspects of convention and meeting management, analyze the growth and coinciding changes that this industry has experienced, project trends within the industry, describe segments of the travel industry and trends for each, understand technology as it pertains to the travel industry.
Students must be enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast and be working towards a degree in the Hospitality Administration program.
