All Twenty-first Century Scholars agree to the following rules to maintain the scholarship:
- Apply annually for federal and state financial assistance prior to deadline dates
- Maintain full-time student status (12 or more credit hours per semester)
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Maintain a 67 percent completion rate of all classes attempted
- Attend all classes
- Establish and maintain an academic plan
- Discuss all changes in academic plan with departmental advisor and program coordinator
- Make two (2) advisory contacts per semester with program coordinator
- Make ten (10) support contacts per semester with any one or more of the following resources: program coordinators, mentors and Blackboard via e-mail, phone, in person, etc
- Participate in tutoring and mentoring services, attend seminars and workshops, participate in school and community extra-curricular activities and events
- Not use illegal drugs or misuse alcoholic beverages
- Not commit any criminal or delinquent acts
Scholars must also understand that they may forfeit the Twenty-first Century Scholarship if they do not abide by these guidelines.
