GED

A person should be 18 years of age and no longer enrolled in a High school. Candidates who are 16 and 17 can also take the GED test provided they have the following:

1. State form titled "Exit Interview" (you can get this from your HS or Ivy Tech).The Exit Interview must be signed by any Superintendent in the State
2. A practice test is available but not currently required for candidates aged 16 and 17

GED candidates are not required to take the Adult Basic Education classes, however they may be very helpful.

Yes, you can take your GED online at one of the participating online testing center. Basic information concerning the GED computer-based exam can be obtained by visiting the State of Indiana's Adult Education website at www.in.gov/dwd/adulted.htm and clicking the Students tab.
