Eighth Robotics Challenge Complete

Ivy Tech Community College hosted the Eighth Robotics Challenge on Friday November 11.   This year, 30 high school and middle school teams competed in “The Hustle”. 

The winners for the middle school competitors were:

First Place
Shockwaves of Resurrection:  Ken Schneider, Advisor; Connor Barteck, Leader; Matt Schneider.

Second Place
Golbians, Inc. of Home School:  Brenda Verona, Advisor; David Verona, Leader; Blake Goedde, Marty Jones.

Third Place
The Bellybuttons of Helfrich Park:  Ginny King; Advisor; Robbie Ennis, Leader; Mark Molinet, Lee Moschner, Nick Ferguson.

The winners for the high school competitors were:

First Place
Robo Brothers of Home School:  Nick Scott, Advisor; Daniel Verona, Leader; Jordan Jones, Adam Scott.

Second Place
Cyberbots of Home School:  Karen Blankenberger, Advisor; Michael Blankenberger, Leader; Nathaniel Gerlach, Nathan DeMasie, Nicholas Blankenberger.

Third Place
Quad Squad of Home School:  Jim Kern, Advisor; Ben Watson, Leader; Eli Kern, Isaac Evans, Ryan Bosecker.

Each Robotics Challenge competition has a new theme and a new twist.  “The Hustle” required autonomous robots (not remote controlled) to retrieve ping-pong balls out of a chute and put the loose ping-pong balls in one of three baskets.
