Ivy Tech Community College will sponsor a Patriots’ Day observance on Monday, September 11, 2006. The event, to be held in the Indianapolis Artsgarden at Circle Center Mall, themed “Honoring America’s Heroes,” will pay tribute to the heroes who risked their lives 5 years ago during the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City and to the heroes who work to protect the United States and its communities everyday. Planned activities include performances by Indy VoiceWorks, Asante Children’s Theatre, JOSHUA, vocalist Gina Moore of the Brown Sisters, and the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre.

In addition to live performances, the event will feature art work portraying the theme “Honoring America’s Heroes.” The public is invited to submit original 2-D or 3-D pieces or literary works for display. Entry forms, which must be returned by July 28, may be requested by emailing sajohnso@ivytech.edu or calling (317) 921-4299. Submissions can be delivered to Ivy Tech Community College – Central Indiana campus, located at the intersection of Fall Creek Parkway and Meridian Street, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. July 25th through July 28th.
