| Robots Compete in Labyrinth
Ivy Tech Community College will host the Ninth Robotics Challenge on Friday April 14, in the Main Campus Commons. Twenty-three high school and middle school teams will compete in the “aMAZEing Race”.
There is new twist on the old competition of the Robotics Challenge. The autonomous robots (not remote controlled) are not looking for ping-pong balls in this competition. The “aMAZEing Race” requires the robots to maneuver through a labyrinth.
Two home-schooled high school students will compete with five other teams from Boonville, Evansville Day School, Reitz and South Spencer. Middle School students have 14 teams from Helfrich Park, home school, North Posey, Resurrection and South Spencer.
The competition will be held on Friday, April 14 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 3501 North First Ave.
Ivy Tech Community College, The Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Whirlpool Corporation and Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indiana are sponsors of this event. |
