It is strongly encouraged that contact be made two months prior to the start of the semester in which the student plans to enroll. Some accommodations may require more time to arrange.
Early contact will ensure that accommodations are available for the admission process and when classes begin.
Late contact by the student could delay the availability of accommodations in time to begin classes.
Accommodations cannot be authorized without appropriate documentation. It is the student's responsibility to provide the Disability Services Office with recent documentation from a licensed professional (including school psychologists) verifying the need for the accommodation requested. Services and accommodations are individualized but must be provided on a consistent basis according to these and related established procedures.
Individuals with disabilities are also encouraged to contact their local Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to learn if they qualify for the many benefits available through that agency.
