2006 Week of the Young Child Events

The public is invited to Celebrate the Arts, a morning of art, music, dance, drama and story-telling activities for children and parents, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Washington Carver Elementary School. Part of the community’s observance of 2006 Week of the Young Child, the event is sponsored by the East Central Chapter of the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children and the Ivy Tech Community College Early Childhood Education Club.

Special attraction at the event will be a presentation of West African and African American percussion music, dance and story telling by Young Audiences of Indiana and the Griot Drum Ensemble. In addition, interactive arts-based activities will be provided by early childhood programs from throughout central Indiana. All activities are free.
