Ivy Tech Community College Veterans Educational Information

Required Paperwork:
• Application for Educational Benefits to be completed online HERE

• Print signature page and mail to VA along with NOBE or EMS (if applicable).

NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility) is needed for Chapter 1606 ( Montgomery Bill Selected-Reserve (MG-SR)

EMS (Eligibility of Mobilized Soldier) is needed Chapter 1607 (Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)

• Students who used benefits somewhere else must complete Change of Program form

• Copy of Military transcript and previous college transcript – for credit evaluation turned into Registrars' Office

• Each semester veterans must complete the Veteran Request for Enrollment form each semester to insure certification of classes and return to Barb Cannaday, May be obtained in the financial aid office or HERE

Chapter 30: (Active Duty) A monthly benefit to veteran.

Veteran must certify enrollment last day of each in order to receive check.

Chapter 1606: (Reserve or National Guard) A monthly benefit to veteran.

Veteran must certify enrollment last day of each month in order to receive check.

Verify enrollment online HERE or phone at 1-877-823-2378.

Chapter 1607: (Reserve or National Guard serving more than 90 days active duty)

A monthly benefit to veteran.

Veterans receiving educational benefits must be pursuing a degree or certificate program and courses taken must be on the program check sheet.

-If you stop attending classes notify me immediately.
-Monthly benefits are based upon class attendance.
-Grades of “F” may require repayment of benefits to VA.
