| Surgical Technology The surgical technologist is a member of the surgical team, qualified by didactic and clinical education to provide safe and efficient care to the patient in the operating room. Instruction consists of courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, medical law and ethics, surgical techniques and surgical procedures. Closely supervised clinical education is provided in area hospitals.
