Information on FASTNET Courses
FASTNET Online Courses are asynchronous online classes delivered in efficient 8-week sessions. Students can participate at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any Internet connection in the world. Although there are no required on-campus class meetings, students are expected to visit the online course room several times a week to submit weekly assignments on time every week. FASTNET Online Courses are designed for intense, accelerated study for students who are self-motivated; capable of completing assignments on time; somewhat computer "savvy" when accessing the Internet and sending e-mails; and able to learn by reading, discussing, and applying course content.

The courses apply toward technical certificate and associate degree programs in the Division of Business, Health Sciences, and Public Services. Students should refer to their program check sheet or speak with a program advisor to determine which FASTNET Online Course may apply to their program of study and to insure that all course prerequisites have been met.

Students may register for a maximum of two FASTNET Online Courses during each 8-week session. Students registered for FASTNET Online Courses are required to access the course on e-Learning during the week prior to the beginning of the 8-week session to pick up the syllabus, secure the textbook, complete the orientation, and begin the first week's assignment. Any student who has not participated in the course room by the end of Week #1 of the 8-week session may be dropped from the course as a "no-show". In addition, any student who has not satisfied fees by the end of Week #1 of the 8-week session will have e-Learning access terminated by the Bursar's Office. Students receiving financial aid are required to register for both 8-week sessions at the beginning of the semester.

Certifications
Ivy Tech FASTNET also offers certifications courses such as Microsoft Office Specialist and IC3.

Important Note: Students should refer to their program check sheets or speak with a program advisor to determine which FASTNET Online Courses may apply to their program of study, and to insure that all course prerequisites have been met.
