Step up is a year-long seminar in either Algebra 1 or Creative Writing providing tutoring, extra instruction and hands-on learning experiences. Students will achieve greater success in dual credit and early college programs, prepare for ECA and graduation exams, and build skills necessary for success in college.

Ivy Tech’s Step Up program is now accepting applications from students currently in 7th and 8th grades at any Delaware County High School. Cost for year-long enrollment (100+ hours of instruction) is $300. Full scholarships are available for enrolled Twenty-First Century Scholars students.
Creative Writing: Build creative writing and reading comprehension skills through an engaging look at local history. Students will develop a writing portfolio designed to feature self-examination and exploration of historical figures.
Algebra I: Get a hands-on look at how to apply math concepts in real-life settings and practice skills essential to long-term math success. Students will work on creative projects, utilize technology and have fun learning math.

The program will meet July 13-31 daily from 1-4p.m. and weekly afterschool from 4-6p.m. during the academic year. Both programs will be located at the downtown Ivy Tech campus. Students can earn $50 per semester based on classroom participation, meeting program requirements and keeping passing grades.
