I began my career at Ivy Tech Community College in 2009 working in the Financial Aid department. This prior knowledge has served me well in my current position as an Academic Advisor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Indiana University, with a minor in Psychology. I'm currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Higher Education through Ashford University, which I'll complete in October, 2013. As a graduate student, I was recently inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society. In my current position as an Academic Advisor at the Franklin campus, I work with new students in their first year of college. In addition to the nineteen programs I advise, my role includes components of Admissions and Records. I also serve as the transfer coordinator for the Ivy Tech Franklin campus. I hope to begin teaching a course or two beginning in the Spring of 2014. I've always been very passionate about Higher Education and continuous learning. I truly enjoy working with students and watching them grow as they achieve their educational goals. The thing I enjoy most about my career is building relationships with my students and making a difference in the lives of others. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching sports, zumba, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. I have a boxer named Bennett who brings a lot of joy to my life. I also enjoy getting involved in my community and volunteering when I can. I look forward to working with you as you pursue your educational goals at Ivy Tech Community College!
