Basic understanding of CNC operations, safety, industrial terminology and lab experience on mill and lathe machine.

CNC TROUBLESHOOTING

The 85-MT10-Ai System recreates the industrial environment with a real world Fanuc CNC controller, digital AC motor drive amplifier, AC servo motor with enCourser feedback, operator station, and machine axis drive with precision ball screw drive.   The CNC Troubleshooting Learning System teaches Fanuc model 21i CNC control systems, which are used to provide accurate control of axis movement of CNC machine tools, robots and specialized automation equipment.  Students will learn industry-relevant skills including how to: operate, install, tune, program and troubleshoot the Fanuc model 21i CNC Control System.

CNC MACHINE TECHNOLOGY
(Course ID: MFIT  CNC5)
To provide a foundation in programming and provide basic concepts of CNC programming that can be applied to a variety of industrial situations.

CNC PROGRAMMING
(Course ID: MFIT CNC6)
Expands on CNC Machine Technology to provide further study in computer-aided numerical control programming.  Focuses on programming CNC lathes, thread cycles, and pocket milling cycles.

NIMS CNC OPERATOR
(Course ID: MFIT NIM5)
Introduces the basic principles and practices of CNC machine operation used in manufacturing environments.  The course will cover all aspects of safe and proper use of tooling, fixtures, and precision measurement devices with respect to CNC Parts and CNC machining centers.  This course will use lecture, lab, online simulation and programming, testing, and a formal Credentialing Achievement Record to prepare students for NIMS CNC Operator Certification Level 1.
