Special Needs

Ivy Tech Community College will accommodate any qualified candidates with a diagnosed special need.

When applying to test, the teaching entity, candidate, or employer must notify Ivy Tech Community College of the candidate's special need. The request to test must include:

• Separate letter on letterhead or a note from the candidate that includes the reason for the special testing, and the modified equipment that will be available for use
• Copy of documentation from a diagnostician validating the special need

When testing is being scheduled, the teaching entity, the candidate, or the employer should explain to the tester any concerns or considerations pertinent to the testing process.

• The teaching entity, the candidate, or the employer must provide the necessary modified equipment and the manufacturer's instructions for use
• Information received by Ivy Tech Community College regarding a candidate's special need will be kept confidential
