Using Trade Books to Teach Science (K-4th Grade)
Looking for a way to encourage your students' interest in a topic? Trade books can provide the needed spark. Choosing trade books to accompany lessons in a science classroom can be a daunting task for any educator, new or veteran. Come explore the reason to use trade books, where to start, and how to choose a trade book to go with your textbook to motivate and teach your students the standards in this 3 hour class. In this class, we will also do some easy science experiments. The class will focus on K-4 but could be used for any grade. Please bring your grade level science standards or your text book with you.

Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Windows, including saving and moving files.
This course covers the basic functions and features of PowerPoint 2013. After an introduction to PowerPoint's window components, students will learn to create, save, and rearrange presentations. Then they will format text, use drawing objects, work with graphics, and insert tables and charts. They will then learn to use templates and themes, slide masters, and transition effects. Finally, students will learn to proof, run, and print presentations. Textbook is included in course fee.
