Ivy Tech Community College will host a performance by the African American Dance Company today as part of the school’s Black History Month activities.
The dance group will perform at 1 p.m. in the student commons. The performance is sponsored by the department of diversity and outreach.
The African American Dance Company’s repertoire consists of original choreography based on a fusion of modern, jazz, African-American, Latin American and African diaspora dance styles.
Ivy Tech has sponsored several activities for Black History Month, including a soul food and ethnic variety lunch last Thursday.
A display titled “Inspiring Moments in African American History” has been on view in the student commons since the beginning of the month.
