Quality Technician Certification (CQT) Prep Class

Before registering for the class, please read this course description to ensure you meet the prerequisites required to take the CQT exam.


Training will take place on 6 consecutive Saturdays from 8 AM to Noon starting  August 16th. 

There will be no class on September 20th, and group consensus will determine if there will be class on August 30th (Labor Day weekend). 

Therefore, the exam date will be either October 4th or 11th – again, depending on group consensus. 


The training will be hosted at the Indiana Center for Life Sciences, 501 N. Profile Parkway, Bloomington.


Exam Prep class only: (with materials) - $225 per person

Exam fee: $189

ASQ Membership:(1 year) - $146 (ASQ will pay $50 towards the 1 year membership or any participant that signs up)


There are two ways to reserve a seat in the training – with self-pay or with company sponsorship.


John Vandenbemden, Quality Instructor/Consultant (QIA)

John Vandenbemden is Vice President of Quality Instructor/Consultant QIA, and has over 30 years in manufacturing and 25 years in quality systems.  Throughout his quality systems experience John has been responsible for auditing and the development, implementation and certification of Quality Systems to ISO9001, ISO14001, QS9000 and TS16949 at many types of manufacturing and service facilities.

John is a member of ASM, SME and Fellow member (granted Fall 2004) of ASQ.  He held a position on the ASQ Certification Board as the chair of the Certified Mechanical Inspector exam from March 1999 to July 2004.  Division membership includes Automotive, Statistics and Inspection where he has served the World Conference for Quality and Improvement as a presenter, session manager and technical paper reviewer representing the divisions. John serves as the membership chair for the Inspection Division as well as the treasurer of the Statistics Division. John also serves as the publicity chair and on the Economics for Quality committee for the ASQ Cincinnati Section.  John represents ASQ Region 9 as a Deputy Regional Director. John’s credentials include a BS Indiana State University -1976 and MAT Purdue University – 1986 both in Mathematics, RABQSA Certified QMS Auditor Q098752, ASQ: Certified Quality Auditor -1996, ASQ: Certified Quality Engineer – 1990,ASQ: Certified Quality Manager – 2000, ASQ: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt -2003, ASQ: Certified Quality Improvement Associate -2002, SME: Certified Bronze Lean Manager-2007
