Mini Play Competition (Grades 3-12)
Each fall, the MiniPlay Competition invites students in grades 3‐12 to write and submit an original five to ten‐minute play based upon a theme. Five winners are chosen from each grade level (elementary, middle, and high school) and the winning plays are produced and performed by students in April at the BPP. This year’s theme isThe"____" Living Room. Students will fill in the "blank" to complete the title and submit original plays inspired by events that might take place in a living room, (e.g. The “Zany” Living Room, The “Scary” Living Room). A winning play will illustrate how well a student crafts an original story, characters, and setting based upon their idea.
The first place winner in each grade level will receive a $50 cash prize. All winning playwrights will receive recognition at a special MiniPlay ceremony and by local media, and full production of their play.
For information on how to submit a play for the competition, please call the BPP at 812-334-1188 or e-mail email@example.com. Deadline for submissions is February 3, 2014.
The BPP MiniPlay Competition is sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College.
