National Apprenticeship Agreements

Carpenters & Millwrights
The National Joint Apprenticeship Committee of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners (NJATC/UBC) and Ivy Tech Community College have joined in partnership to enable the delivery of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree to apprentices enrolled in joint apprenticeship training programs associated with the NJATC/UBC.

This innovative system will allow journeypersons and apprentices enrolled in local Joint Apprenticeship Programs the opportunity to attain an associate degree by enrolling in Internet-delivered general education courses leading to a degree and meeting the residential credit requirement.

Elevator Constructors
The National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) and Ivy Tech Community College have joined into a partnership to enable the delivery of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree to journeypersons and apprentices enrolled in joint apprenticeship training programs associated with the International Union of Elevator Constructors.

This innovative system will allow apprentices enrolled in local Joint Apprenticeship Programs the opportunity to attain an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree by enrolling in Internet-delivered general education courses leading to a degree and meeting the residential credit requirement

Heat & Frost and Insulators
The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers and Ivy Tech Community College have joined into a partnership to enable the delivery of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree to journeypersons and apprentices enrolled in joint apprenticeship training programs associated with the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers.

This innovative system will allow apprentices enrolled in local Joint Apprenticeship Programs and journeypersons the opportunity to attain an associate of applied science degree by enrolling in Internet-delivered general education courses leading to a degree and meeting the residential credit requirement. 

Ironworkers
The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers and Ivy Tech Community College have joined in partnership to enable the delivery of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree to apprentices enrolled in certified local union apprenticeship programs.

This innovative system will allow apprentices enrolled in local Joint Apprenticeship Programs and journeypersons the opportunity to attain an associate of applied science degree by enrolling in Internet-delivered general education courses leading to a degree and meeting the residential credit requirement. 


Sheet Metal Workers
The International Training Institute of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Industry (ITI) and Ivy Tech Community College have joined in partnership to enable the delivery of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree to journeypersons and apprentices enrolled in joint apprenticeship training programs associated with the Sheet Metal Workers International Association.

This innovative system will allow apprentices enrolled in local Joint Apprenticeship Programs the opportunity to attain an associate degree by enrolling in Internet-delivered general education courses leading to a degree and meeting the residential credit requirement.

Residency Policy:  In order to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science from Ivy Tech Community College you must have a total of 15 residential credits.
