Beginning ASL
Signing is a beautiful and necessary communication skill for those who work with the hearing impaired. Learn the manual alphabet and single word signs, and then incorporate them into sentences to develop a sense of the flow and rhythm. Signing also may be used to complement verbal communication with children with developmental delays, stroke patients, and those struggling to learn English. Sign language also can be used in noisy workplaces as a visual means of communicating rather than relying entirely on verbal exchange.
