How to Manage Difficult People

Whether you are an employee or supervisor, you can learn how to deal with difficult people and apply strategies to reduce stress and conflict in your daily life. This program will provide basic guidelines to enhance professional relationship and opportunities to demonstrate appropriate behavior to conflict situations.

Course objectives

• Become aware that conflict is inevitable.

• Participants will understand and recognize that the way they behave is directly influenced by how they feel.

• Become aware Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and how that affects our reaction to change.

• Will develop an understanding of the four stages of change.

• Will become aware of what “triggers” your ability to become a victim of change.

• Will learn the five ways to sense conflict.

• Will understand the five styles to manage conflict, and identify your conflict management style.

Training description

How to Manage Difficult People is a half day workshop combining lecture, instructor led role playing assignments and visual presentation.

Hours and cost

Your How to Manage Difficult People course is a 4-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 20 participants.  0.4 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, course materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
