This course for healthcare professionals provides information on adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (including two rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask); foreign-body airway obstruction (both conscious and unconscious); automated external defibrillation; special resuscitation situations and other cardiopulmonary emergencies.  Ivy Tech Community College is the provider of choice for many health care organizations to provide critical skill development for staff.

Training description

This class will prepare participants to perform CPR with the skills, knowledge and attitudes essential to being a productive member of the health care team. The course includes classroom and hands-on experience according to American Heart Association standards.  Participants who successfully complete will receive an AHA Healthcare Provider card certifying successful completion.

Hours and cost:

Your American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers course is a 4-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to 6 participants. 0.4 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
