Hands-On Variable Frequency Drives
Ivy Tech Community College has partnered with Lewellyn Technologies to deliver Hands-On Variable Frequency Drives training. In this course, participants will learn about the operation, setup and maintenance of AC Variable Frequency Drives. The training is designed to familiarize maintenance personnel with the concepts and principles necessary to make them better troubleshooters. Regardless of the manufacturer, all AC variable frequency drives have two major components: an AC induction motor and a variable speed controller.

Understanding these components and how they work will increase the ability to troubleshoot in a variety of applications.

BENEFITS TO YOUR ORGANIZATION

  • Better trained maintenance personnel
  • Less down time due to implementation of better troubleshooting methods
  • Successful setup of systems
  • Participants develop knowledge and understanding of the different types of systems

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Applications of AC Motors
  • Selection Method for Motors
  • Starting Methods
  • Drive Types and Applications
  • Setup and Operation
  • Maintenance Troubleshooting
  • Meter Uses and Safety
  • Hands-on Lab Exercises
