Radon Measurement
This course is appropriate for those individuals planning to place and retrieve radon measurement devices and for the responsible party for an Analytical Laboratory.  It is also the prerequisite for the Radon Mitigation Course.

Course objectives

• Students will learn about the health risks of radon, factors that influence radon measurements, basic radon measurement techniques, common measurement devices, and a brief overview of radon mitigation methods 

• The instruction and materials are presented in such a way as to make them applicable to your business; thus providing you with practical and useful information

Training description and materials

Students participate in self study and on-line learning.  Upon successful completion of the course, students can contact Ivy Tech and schedule to sit for a review as well as their certification exam.  The NEHA (National Environmental Health Association) grades the exams and sends the results directly back to the student along with an application for certification.  Students will then return the application (with a fee of $150) and a copy of the course certificate.  Certifications are good for two years.  The cost of renewal is $130 and requires 16 credits of continuing education.

Hours and cost:

Your Radon Measurement Pre-Certification course is a 2-hour training activity per person.  Pricing includes an audio CD, a course manual, and online review questions.  Exam only pricing is also available.
