Pumps

This course will provide participants an understanding and application of the construction and operation of centrifugal, reciprocating, metering, special, and rotary pumps, and their components.  The course includes procedures of troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Explain the principles of hydraulics using Pascal’s Law.
  • Describe the function and operation of centrifugal, rotary, reciprocating, metering, and special pumps.
  • Explain the differences in pump seal designs and their uses.
  • Demonstrate how to pack a pump and install a mechanical seal.
  • Demonstrate the proper techniques used in disassembly and assembly of a pump.
  • Explain how to evaluate the condition of a pump.
  • Describe the steps and procedures used to install a pump.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This instructor led course with reference text focuses on the study and application of pumps. This course provides participants the ability to demonstrate competencies in pumps.

HOURS

You’re Pumps course is a 32-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  3.2 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, textbooks and course materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
