This workshop covers skills for basic measuring and hand tools, basic inspection,workplace safety, shop materials, machine process adjustments, and machine and tooling maintenance.This workshop is recommended for anyone taking any of the other NIMS certification workshops or courses. The NIMS Level I Measurement,Materials, and Safety Certification is a portable skills document recognized by industry professionals.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This is an instructor led workshop. Through reference materials, lectures, and hands on experience, the students will be exposed to common manufacturing related safety, measurement, maintenance, and process issues. The instructor will guide students on finding references they need using Machinery’s Handbook, and other material, to solve common shop problems. For experienced or advanced employees, Measurement, Materials, and Safety can be customized to include specialized, industry specific equipment or materials, advanced course material, or other specialized needs.

HOURS

Your Measurement, Materials and Job Safety workshop is a 20 hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to 15 participants maximum. Training includes all course textbooks and materials, training administration, instruction, participant use of tool-crib, activity evaluation, and NIMS certification testing fee.
