Introduces the basic theory, operation and programming of programmable logic controllers. Demonstrates programming examples, set-up examples and troubleshooting, as well as PLC timing, counting, arithmetic and logic and sequencers.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This instructor-led course with reference text, lab manual and simulation software focuses in part on the study and application of Allen-Bradley programmable logic hardware (SLC-500 & PLC-5) and Rockwell programming software (RSLogix).   Students learn PLC hardware components, system configuration, relay ladder logic concepts, binary arithmetic and logic concepts.  Simulation software permits the student the ability to practice and complete homework assignments without the need for expensive hardware and software associated with the classroom.
