HVAC Excellence Commercial Air Conditioning
The HVAC Excellence®, Commercial Air-Conditioning Certification is a nationally recognized certification. This credential is area specific to the commercial air-conditioning facet of HVACR and will prove that you have the core knowledge of HVACR system theory, function, application, components, and troubleshooting ability that is required by the industry to enter the workforce. Much of the course includes hands on demonstration of competencies covered.

The training will culminate in the awarding of the HVAC Excellence Commercial Air-Conditioning Certification upon the successful completion of the training and testing.

Course objectives

- The refrigerant cycle as it applies to commercial air-conditioning.

- Troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components.

- Troubleshoot and evaluate components found in commercial air-conditioning.

- Capacity control with multiple compressors and cylinders.

- Metering device application specific to commercial air-conditioning.

- Effects of component failure on the systems.

- Clean-up procedures of compressor burnouts.

- Water-cooled systems and cooling tower operation.

- Large capacity compressors e.g. screw centrifugal, open-drive etc.

- Multiple evaporator systems.

Training description and materials

This instructor led course with reference text, focuses in part on the study and application of commercial air conditioning in the HVAC/R trade. We will cover the integration of mechanical and electronic controls in commercial air-conditioning equipment. Testing of circuits and components and reading schematic and pictorial diagrams that will allow for the learner to gain confidence in his or her abilities in the troubleshooting. This course will focus on the learner and the ability to demonstrate competencies in the HVAC commercial air-conditioning specialty, culminating with certification by HVAC Excellence.

Hours and cost:

Your Commercial Air-Conditioning Certification Training course is a 50-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, training consumables, a certification test voucher, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
