This training will provide for the learner an understanding of the causes, effects and remedies of Carbon Monoxide as it relates to indoor air quality. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas and is an asphyxiant. CO is deadly!
The learners of this training will be trained on the latest in detection, documentation, and liability concerns as it applies to home, business and industry. Indoor air quality is paramount in today’s hermetically sealed buildings and coupled with HVAC equipment that is much more complex this training is instrumental in assuring quality indoor air through ensuring complete combustion.
Benefits to your organization
- Increased skills level.
- Compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Decreased costs associated with sickness from CO.
- Lessen the liability of those associated with building Indoor Air Quality.
Course objectives
Upon successful completion of this course the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate safe practices and procedures.
- Understand how to measure and detect Carbon Monoxide.
- Document levels of CO.
- Understand the procedures necessary to assure complete combustion in fossil fuel burning appliances.
- Pressure measurements associated with CO safety.
- Understand and apply Psychometrics associated with air distribution.
- Perform combustion analysis.
- Understand legal issues associated with CO.
Training description and materials
This instructor led course with reference text, will focus on the ability to measure, detect, and correct CO problems in the conditioned environment. The issue of CO is becoming increasing important to HVAC contractors, building managers and anyone who is responsible to insure the highest quality of indoor air.
The outcome of this training is certification from the ESCO Institutes HVAC Excellence Certification in Carbon Monoxide / Combustion Analysis upon successful completion of the course and testing. The learners will participate in hands on performance of the testing and procedures necessary to ensure the absence of CO.
