This is an introduction to the technology of fiber optic communications, sending communications over hair thin strands of ultra-pure glass and sometimes plastic. This course presents an overview of fiber optics and studies the uses for fiber optics, advantages, cable details, connectors, splices, sources, detectors, and fiber optic systems.
