Dust Fabrication

This course will provide participants an understanding and application of reading blueprints common to the sheet metal trade, floor plans, elevations, section, detail and mechanical plans.  The course requires students to develop a layout of an air conditioning duct system and fittings.  It also discusses fabrication of these parts, including proper use of hand-tools and shop equipment used to fabricate duct systems and fittings.

Course objectives

-Demonstrate safe practices and procedures.

-Develop neat and clean shop drawings to scale.

- Read and interpret schedules, drawings and specifications shown on construction drawings to formulate a material list.

- Layout and calculate measurements for duct work used in heating and air conditioning using mechanical drawings.

- Demonstrate the use of hand tools used in sheet metal fabrication and duct installation.

- Demonstrate use of sheet metal shop equipment.

- Demonstrate proper installation practices.

Training description and materials

This instructor led course with reference text, focuses on the study and application of heating and air. The course is designed for the participant to demonstrate competencies in duct fabrication.

 

Hours and cost:

You’re Duct Fabrication course is a 32-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  3.2 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, textbook and course materials, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
