Construction is one of the nation’s largest industries and provides numerous earnings, advancement and business opportunities in a variety of trades. This program is designed to provide the foundation and workplace skills needed to be successful in any of the Construction Trades. The program is great introduction for individuals pursuing a new career or enhancing their skills. This is the training program business owners in the construction field want their new employees to get prior to staring on the job.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • Learn the construction specific modules for identified trade
  • Knowledge and application of Construction Math
  • Demonstrate the proper use of Hand & Power Tools
  • Learn to measure and read measurements
  • Develop competence in reading blueprints
  • Understanding of rigging techniques and inspection
  • Ability to follow safety procedures & OSHA requirements
  • Know the responsibilities of crew members, supervisors and managers
  • Demonstrate communication skills needed on and off site so instructions are clear and completed successfully (Verbal, Written, Forms and Documentation)
  • Effective use of critical thinking, problem solving, relationship skills, conflict management, and good work ethics.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This program provides participants with the basic skills and information needed to be successful in the construction industry. It highlights all the construction trades and how they work together then focuses in on the industry specific interests and needs of the participants or customer.

HOURS

The core program is a 60 hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to 15 participants. 6.0 IACET approved CEU’s will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, course materials, consumables, and an activity evaluation at the conclusion of training.
