Working in the Warehouse Environment
A successful career in global logistics requires an understanding of the fundamentals of working in a warehousing environment.  This course provides learners with an overview of the functional and structural composition of warehousing and distribution centers.    Available as a stand-alone course, it is also the first module toward becoming a Certified Warehousing and Distribution Specialist and lays the groundwork for achieving success in warehousing and distribution center environments.

The target audience is training those currently employed in warehousing and distribution preparing them for greater responsibility and growth in these careers.  Skills taught are based on the output of industry focus groups of leading logistics companies.  This course was developed and is certified by the Georgia Department of Technical & Adult Education.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Working in the Warehousing Environment 

  • General Plant Safety teaches the fundamental practices for ensuring a safe work environment. 
  • Learning for Success allows participants to identify their personal learning styles thereby improving skills in study habits, time management, note-taking, and taking exams.
  • Basis Business Principles  raises awareness of the basic principles of operating a business thereby allowing participants to understand the actions and motivations of their employers.  
  • Positive Work Ethic focuses on behaviors in the workplace and how an employee’s behaviors or actions affect the employee, coworkers, and their employer.
  • Managing Change  discusses the causes of change, the concept of change as a process, the dynamics of change, the phases of change and techniques for the healthy management of change.  
  • Self Management and Personal Wellness helps participants take control of their lives in the areas of Personal Wellness, Time Management, and Stress Management.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION AND MATERIALS

This instructor led course is a blended learning environment led by Certified Instructors.  The complete course includes classroom instruction, simulations, and self-assessments.

HOURS

Your Working in the Warehousing Environment course is a 23-hour training activity, scheduled at your convenience for up to a maximum of 8 participants.  Pricing includes training administration, instruction, class handouts and materials, and an evaluation at the conclusion of training.
