On behalf of the College, I want to thank you for your willingness to entrust the College with assisting you to achieve your educational and professional goals. You may be aware of the unprecedented growth that we have experienced over the last few years. This past spring for the first time ever the College enrolled over 100,000 students in classes on Ivy Tech campuses around the state.
Student interest in attending Ivy Tech is at an all-time high with more students taking more credit hours each and every term. Both summer and fall are projected to experience the same rate of growth that we have witnessed recently. You are encouraged to meet with your advisor and take the steps to register early for Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 classes. There are plenty of classes open at this time and financial aid advisors are available to explore options to help you secure financial assistance to pay tuition, fees, and textbook costs. Please be aware that payment options are available through the business office for those who do not qualify for federal or state financial aid.
In light of continued projected growth for the upcoming summer and fall terms, along with state budget forecast limitations, the College has appointed a study committee to investigate how to ensure quality instruction for the growing number of students attending the College. The study committee will report its findings in July 2009.
Please be reminded that the Summer 2009 term starts May 26, 2009 and the Fall 2009 semester term begins August 24, 2009. Registration for summer and fall is on-going at all campuses so don't wait to enroll for classes.
As an Ivy Tech Community College student, you are all part of the nation's largest singly-accredited statewide community college system and part of the largest college or university in the state of Indiana. Thank you for choosing Ivy Tech.
