Ivy Tech expands College for Working Adults
INDIANAPOLIS – Ivy Tech Community College has announced its Fall 2008 College for Working Adults program offerings. Ivy Tech’s College for Working Adults is an academic program specifically designed to meet the unique needs of adult students who also maintain full-time jobs and responsibilities.

The College for Working Adults program is now offered at 17 campuses throughout Indiana. This fall students can enroll in accounting, business management, computer information systems, computer information technology, criminal justice, design technology, early childhood education, health information technology, liberal arts, medical assisting, or public safety programs. Complete details of which programs are offered at each site are available at www.ivytech.edu/cwa/.

In its inaugural year, more than 160 students enrolled in the program, which offers a no-guesswork, plan-ahead approach to earning a college degree. It features a defined program plan, taught at scheduled dates and times for the duration of the program, making college a predictable part of their busy lives. Participants will complete the program and earn degrees in two years.  Some students may be able to complete the program in less time by earning credit through Prior Learning Assessment, a program that awards credit for significant prior learning and expertise.

College for Working Adults is offered at Ivy Tech’s affordable tuition rate, less than $6,000 for a degree, which is less than $3,000 a year. With an associate degree from Ivy Tech, students will earn an average for $7,000 more per year, more than twice the cost of one year at Ivy Tech.  Eligible students may also apply financial aid to program costs.
